Music has played a role in nearly every situation of my life. This is where I'll be collecting items inspired by those moments- poems, lyrics, blog entries- the soundtrack of me.
I may also contribute blog-style entries here from time to time:
It's been years and I'm getting long in the tooth. David (Tor), Melinda, Ken, Barbara... dead and gone.
I'm still here, ancient saggy flesh and all.
I hang on because I can't let go.
I maxed out two blogs but then they changed the criteria. "L'aura del Campo" with 105k views! is still open for business. I post poetry there now.
I go in cycles. More contests in June. July? Worn out. I do blog and I do get comments! So that's something. It's not like Old Blogville though when folks would just blog for the sheer joy of it!
Linda, Mavis, Nada, Jamie... Partyof5... so many memories.
I try not to think of Cheektowaga, but when I do, I think of you. Still remember your address on Penora.
Blogging now has been helpful for me. It's writing without the creative bit and it's been helpful. Especially with everything going on. I had always hoped to get into blogging, especially with it being such a thing on here, but I think before my brain just wanted me to focus on whatever stupid story idea I had at the time or whatever else I seemed to be working on. Then I think real life, for me, shoved its hair ass in my face. So, I'm glad it's still here for me to bum off of.
You've done so well Norb! I'm so proud of everything you've accomplished!
I was a part of a blogging group with Jay back when, it's been disbanded but I remember I did have that around 2003 on here I think. Glad to see you at the blogging helm! Your blog entries are always so epic, it's like watching one of those epic movies on the big screen with surround sound and like the vibrating chairs that make you feel alive (but would activate my PTSD).
It has been cycles with the site, I cycle in, cycle out, like a ghost in the wind. Always! But, with extreme shit hitting me I bury under ground and neither internet nor real life can find me then.
I've heard about this first wave of bloggers and Blogville(sp?). I think it's kind of sad how cycles of people come and go from the site. I think I didn't realize it when we had a big group of people blogging together. I didn't realize I was part of a new 'generation' of bloggers on the site, so I kinda naively assumed everyone would just be around forever blogging together. I mean, I'm thankful for the new friends I've made over the course of the years, but I definitely miss the people who aren't around much anymore so it makes me kinda sad. I'm sure you feel that with the first wave of bloggers.
