I think your wife may be onto something. There are all manner of reference materials detailing possible adverse reactions to various drug combinations, but I'm pretty sure popcorn chicken didn't make the cut (and who would think to check that, anyhow?). Rest up, feel better.
At first, I thought you might be experiencing astral projection. I used to go through it much too often many years ago, where I could not move but I felt awake. One of those times I thought I heard Satan call my name...It was horrifying and I tried so hard to move but I couldn't...so I took a rosary to bed with me to help protect me, along with a Bible.

I can empathize with you. I have a recurring dream over the years that literally scares me awake. It's been some time since I had it last, which is fine by me. But I can't say what causes it--I can't pin a reason down.
That's a horrible and terrifying nightmare - as most are - and you're probably correct in guessing the source of the 'idea'. I hope the medical procedures go well.
