My thoughts released; a mind set free

These pages contain my thoughts, from meandering ideas and persuasions to deep cerebrations and serious mentations.

Why, for what purpose? To release my mind and set creativity free. Somewhere inside the constraints of my mind dwells a writer, a poet, an artist who paints with words. In here I release those constraints and set the artist free.

Perhaps, lost somewhere in the depths of thought, is a story or a poem, waiting to be written.

The way it usually works for me is:

"Sorry, I was thinking about a friend who had a bear break into her house years ago. Thinking of writing a story about it."

Cashier stares at me as if I'm preaching the Gospel of Pickels The WonderDog. "That's nice. Cash or charge?"

Oh, you would not like it here in L.A. because there are high crime areas and some places are safe and some aren't. Yeah, traffic here is horrible too, it gets crazy and I don't understand why people come here to visit California. I would love to leave California because it's expensive to live here. I hate it here.

I also get headaches if I don't get my "fix" of caffeine or stay up and drink a lot (lack of sleep combined with too much alcohol consumption) but usually cure them with drinking water before or with my coffee the next morning.

my wife gets pressure headaches, too; she is more sensitive than I am. Often she will complain of getting a headache, I check the pressure and see it's changing, and take a couple Dual Advil to stop my headache before it sets in.

I've heard of the phenomenon, but never experienced it. Usually, my headaches are due to lack of caffeine, lack of sleep, a hangover, or, most frequently, all three at the same time.

Wife gets headaches from the change in pressure. We thought it was part of her Davics Disease. But apparently not.

Go With the Flow

Yesterday I finally managed to write a short story "Never Have a Bear As a House Guest"

and break the streak of being bogged down and stuck. It was also my first time (I think) of writing a true story instead of fiction. I have written stories based on true events, but always have added some fiction in. Not this time, except for the peoples names.

Having written it, I find myself remember a couple other encounters with bears during the time I lived further north. Here we only get the occasional bear reports, but living up in Itasca county, there were a lot of bears. I just don't think some of the other encounters I've heard would be enough for a short story, but if I add in some fiction–maybe. I could include every minute detail to make the non-fiction story longer, but I don't want to put you to sleep or scare you away, so perhaps a blend of truth and fiction is the way to go.

The good news is, ideas are starting to flow again and it feels damn fine to be writing again. Leora, my muse, sat down on my leg today and whispered a couple of ideas I could add to my true tales, but before we got very far my wife's nephew showed up and Leora dissipated back to that place she resides in my mind (she's pretty bashful). But, I'm sure she will be back soon to assist me with a tale worth telling. Also, I read an entertaining and funny bear story by Wordsmitty ✍️

(I recommend you read it) that aided with some comic ideas to add to the otherwise true tales.

I'll work on the story and let you know when it's written.
