Had to shoot over here and see if you'd updated your blog. But listen, reading this post several months after you posted, I have to argue with old Neil on this one. I worked in a maternity ward in Africa and we had a huge upswing of delivering women on both the full moon and the new moon. I delivered both my kids on new moons; my son was three and a half weeks early and my daughter was one week early. When my daughter was born, the mid-wife told me there had only been two births a day the week before, but when I was there the ward was full beyond capacity. Ask your OBGYN. Guarenteed she/he will tell you how many more women go into labor on the full and new moons. (Hm, I wonder under what moon Neil deGrasse Tyson gave birth? )
Wonderful poem. I had a brilliant student teacher, a Mr. Lewis, who shared this poem with us one afternoon. He brought it to life. It's nice to stumble across it again here.
