Yes. I can't expect my romance readers to engage with my SciFi/Fantasy or Cozy Mystery novels and vice versa. It's not a secret that these are my pen names, like JD Robb is Nora Roberts and she has made no bones about that from the get go.
Cool! Congrats on publishing and starting something new for 2019! I hope it goes well.
I just found a writing group in Paris that meets on Sunday mornings. It's a little early for me, since I work late Saturday nights, but I'm going to try and go next week to meet people and write. I need some accountability to get my brain moving and be around like minded people.
*ACK* When people ask my why I'm not published (I am... but not widely) can I send them to you so you can explain? I'd rather just write. Even submitting poetry is too daunting a task.
I'll have some new chapbooks by November... I'm promising myself. I have trouble keeping promises.
I've been using by first blog as a p-log for my poetry. Means my blog is over 90,000 views... which is nice.
The short-shorts I'm putting on line right now work well for me. The ones that are associated with an image need to become a small booklet, even better if they have a photograph to go with them... and many do.
Over 700 on line here... ouch. I'll need to sort, choose some of the best and solicit comments from friends. Even if I only put out a trial run it will be better than nothing.
Only a total of three months traveling this year, but it gets harder every year. And a gazillion photos to edit and post is tiring.
I haven't read Wheel of Time series either. I started the first book and got into it, but then put it down and never picked it back up. BUT I LOVE Sanderson too. He is an easy read and his books are a bit cliché at times but you can't say anything against his world building. He's really fantastic. The worlds are believable, deeply thought out and involved. So well done.
Have you read N K Jemisin? She's really good too. Very different, a bit more dark than Sanderson, but her books are deeply feminine and the world building is great. She's one of the only authors I've read where I thought the sex scenes (if you can call them that at times) were well written. If you haven't checked her out, get the first book to the Inheritance Trilogy. I forget the title. I read it twice in a row it was so good.
I didn't know you played WoW. Did I? I might have known. God, I've known everyone on here for too long; I'm starting to forget things.
I totally get feeling crowded. I think it's living with other adults that does it. We lived with my parents for a few years after having Nikolai, and even though our situation was also a space thing, I know we'd have had the same issues if the house was bigger.
The mall is a *great* place to be alone, ironically. I hope you had a good day off, and that you've had another one since then.
Oh yeah, and I forgot to add, I couldn't stand living with my entire family. When my sister built her house she built a basement apartment for my mom and stepfather. I think it's insanity, though it does make visiting them convenient.
