Every year is a gift: a clean white canvas on which you can draw new elements, a crisp blank sheet of paper to write another chapter, or an empty space where you can play and pray. ~ Catherine Moore

New Year's Day: Now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual. ~Mark Twain
I let my blog go unattended forever too, and now try to hit it at least a couple of times a month. I was glad to see the email from you, and delighted to read that you've moved. I've always thought you're the one wdc-er I might actually meet someday when I visit back home again in Indiana, but I have only one cousin left there now. And here you are in Washington! Yea! I'm just ten miles south of Walla Walla
across the state line into Oregon. I have a sister-in-law to visit in Bellingham, and I've been wanting to get Bill to fly me over that direction to see the tulip fields while they're still blooming.
La La how the life goes on. Love that song, but that's probably dating both of us, isn't it?
So glad you got us caught up on all your happenings. Life sounds like it's been busy for you. You seem very happy where you're at. What a great neighbor you had. When we moved from Pennsylvania to Mississippi our house hadn't sold yet and our neighbor was always willing to go over and check that everything was okay. Those kind of friends are priceless.
Sorry about your little dog. Circle of life I suppose, but it's never easy to say goodbye to a family pet.
Okay, when I told you I'd forgotten you lived in Washington now...maybe that's because I never knew??? This sounds like a very recent move. Within the 79 day blogging drought, perhaps? Like I said...I'm old.
I'm sure it's a big change, but it sounds like you are enjoying it. That is a beautiful area, with so much to do, both in town and in the country, or on the water.
Very sorry to hear about Macy. Beloved pets are family and it's so hard when we lose them.
My blog has been 120 days. Although I post poetry and haiku regularly, so that kinda counts. The old group has pretty well disappeared.
Starting over is courageous. Glad you're enjoying the process. It does keep one busy, I'd imagine!
My cat will be two next month. I can't think of his departure but I'm trying to keep him healthy by only giving him vet kibbles, but he's turned into a formidable thief if I'm not careful! I'm convinced people food is responsible for pets' declining health. I don't think animals in the wild get cancer.
Sad to hear about your daughter's doggy. It really is like losing a family member. I don't want my kitty to get old.
I'm glad you are liking your new town, sounds like the people are nice. I've never seen the northwest part of the country but I hear it it very beautiful.
Wow that's a big change. I'm thrilled for the both of you. I absolutely love the Pacific Northwest. I hope that your new home and the new year will be good to you!
Our town no longer has a professional fireworks show due to lack of money. Plenty of people seem to buy them though not as fancy, just enough for an occasional ooh and ah but mostly just lots of dogs barking. Lola has been busy protecting us from thunder and lightening: now it will be fireworks too.
103 in Indiana! Yikes! I remember it getting that hot there when I was about 5, and i spent most of the day lying on the floor in my undies. Pre-air-con
ditioning days.
