Parents relocation dream moving to France, my teenage nightmare.
My parents had always holidayed in France, always in the South somewhere, always in strange places no one had ever heard of.  Not like Monte Carlo or Cannes.  When I was 14 I was delighted we weren't going on our usual summer holiday but that was short lived when Dad announced our departure FOR GOOD.  Oh yes, we were leaving in September to live there permanently, doing up the sheep shed he had purchased into a villa.
I had a year in an International school about 20 minutes from Cannes which softened the blow.  Teenagers like me, all there because our parents chose to move us.  Still, we ended up loving it, Cannes became our haunting ground, even the reception at The Carlton hotel loved us!
Sadly once school was over we left for the Var mountains to our sheep shed in the valley of Bargemon.  Two years in the nearby town of Draguignan at a secretarial college where no one spoke English.
This book covers the ups and downs of all our us, but mostly from my perspective as a teenager adapting to a new world.
