A human takes an assistant teaching job to help alien students learn about human culture. |
It's been fifty years since Earth was first contacted by an alien nation, the Eraknians. With precautionary barriers finally lifting between the two worlds, information and ideas are allowed to travel back and forth with increasing speed. Eric Freeman is one of ten humans from around the globe to travel to Eraknivan and work as the first Earth teachers on the Eraknian homeworld. With each passing day Eric discovers new aspects of the alien culture, which in turn begins to give new meaning to his own life…. I haven't touched this story once since 2010. I may get to it someday, but for now it's on the farthest back burner possible. "Naikuno Pronunciation Guide" Self-explanatory... "Naikuno Glossary" Abridged reference of Eraknian words and names. A friend of mine has recently begun composing music based on my work. Overall I'm very impressed, though I'll deny saying that if he asks. He's posted several songs for this story at http://www.soundclick.com/bdmitchell and I encourage you to take a look. Or a listen, rather. |
