How to Read the Tarot

Begin by brewing a cup of tea,
a nervine, lemon balm or chamomile,
this is after all, your future.
A reading at the dark of the moon is best,
before the night creatures crawl
and bad humours fill the air.
Pick a circular deck, with a fairy-tale motif,
and no reversals.
Hold a question in your heart,
shuffle the cards and place them on the table.
Choose only two.
Like the ancient Israelites,
these are your seer stones, Urim and Thumimm,
black and white, yes or no.
Isn't that all you were asking?

I absolutely love this! The theme and wonderful attitude are great. It's worthy of it's own item and would be a great entry for a contest. It has too much rhyme for Shadows&Light. Perhaps Poetic Traditions as I see you've mentioned the wrapped refrain form. Where did I see that mentioned? Was it a contest? I've been overwhelmed with contests.

Center and then work on line length until a shape appears. I'm not happy with the results. Mixing up fonts and size may help. But making it resemble a Ukrainian Easter egg would be lots of work.

Womyn

We
began as an egg
carried in a dark warm
womb all our grandmothers
singing stories to all the eggs
we carry within from birth trembling
prophets, whispered prayers along
life's zigzag road moon mind
dreams all connected by
ancient threads

Serendipity--

Two volumes arrived yesterday
Book of our Divine Mother MariaTheos.
Thick and spiral-bound
they were offered gratis.

I fall into mystery
answer my prayer

Nikki Giovanni died yesterday. Feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
She wrote that no one ever says what they mean.
How can we know our heart's true desire?
I am skeptical of channeling, but heard a strong feminine voice.

I asked for guidance
She answered with one word, "Stay"
and thus, I abide.
