Good for Twelve Hours

That’s right. I did four hours of overtime yesterday at work. And during those twelve hours, I only got fifteen single paragraphs written for my Water Wars scriptwriting project. But three of them were just Establishing Shots. That means that I only got twelve scenes written.

Which equals about one scene per hour. That’s not very good. Especially, since it was a Saturday. If it had happened during the week fifteen single paragraphs would have been very, very good. But since it was the weekend it wasn’t. At least I don’t think that it is.

Work wasn’t the reason why I didn’t get more writing done yesterday at work. The first eight hours were a normal Saturday. It wasn’t very busy at all. Then came my overtime. And that made up for the first eight. It didn’t make it up completely. but it was very close to it.

The first two hours of my overtime was like a weekday. It was kind of busy. And the last two weren’t quite as bad. But they were still bad, though. I was on my feet and outside my guard post a lot of the last four hours. Especially, during the first two hours of it.

Now for the really bad news. At first, I wasn’t going to take any of my writing because I’m doing another split post-shift again. The first four are in my old post. And the second four are at my normal post. That’s why I wasn’t going to even try to get any writing done today.

Then I found out that I was going to get four more hours of work today at my normal post. Since it was like a regular shift there, I was going to take my writing supplies after all. Even if I didn’t get to do any writing at my old post, I probably could get some written at my normal post.

That’s if I feel like doing it. One of the reasons why I don’t get any writing done at my regular post is because I’m so bummed out with my working at my old post that I don’t feel like doing it. That could happen today too. But I don’t think that it would. Then again, it might.

About halfway through my shift yesterday, I got a call from my Site Supervisor stating that I may not get the four hours of overtime today after all. So, I’m up in the air about whether I take my writing supplies with me or not. I probably will take them just in case. But I may not.

I haven’t decided about that yet. I’m supposed to find out today if I’m going to be working the four hours of overtime. But I’m not sure when I will find that out. If it’s before I go to work, then my decision will be made. But if it’s not, then I will have to make a decision about it.
