An image for the forum Prompt: "The friendship formed when our paths crossed. Write about friendship."

My best friend of course is with Jesus Christ. He has been a faithful, true friend who has had my best interest in heart even when I hated Him.

I have lots of friends I believe Jesus brought into my life. For example, there is not a veteran one here on the hill who would not defend me if it came right down to it. As a chaplain, I am a soldier who would go unarmed into a combat zone. It is not my place to fight. I am a spiritual guide and a morale booster. My job is to advise and keep a finger on the moral/spiritual pulse of my organization. I love my job. I love serving others. It is a job that pays me tons of rewards even if I am not going to get rich from it. Just being there for people is a reward in itself. I serve many people. I serve as a chaplain for the West Virginia Veterans Home. I serve as a Community chaplain for the Salvation Army Huntington Corps. And I serve as a community chaplain/cyber chaplain for Writing.com. If there is a pain I am here to help be the spiritual hope needed at the time. I do not preach or proselytize anyone. I just love people and practice active listening. My main job is to be present with them when they need somebody. I have friends because I try to be one.

Created by the talented [Link To User poulynoe] Prompt: "What does ministry look like for you?"

Ministry can be many things to many people. I have one man in my flock whose ministry is to loan people money at zero percent interest. He loans and keeps track of what he loaned, but never charges a dime of interest. He'll even refuse interest if you offer it. Another member of my flock goes shopping for those who aren't able to do so for themselves. He makes several trips a day to the store. Another veteran will take people to the store for free. When you offer him gas he says "No. It was on Jesus."

Ministry can be many things. My personal ministry is chaplaincy. I serve as a community chaplain or Community Care Ministries Secretary for the Salvation Army Huntington Corps, I serve as chaplain of the veterans home I live in, and I serve as chaplain to WDC.

We all have ministries. Jesus said, "Whatever you do to the least of these in my name, you do to me."

“Pumpkins in October, as fat as the full moon, they sit on our doorstep at night and glow.”― Richelle E. Goodrich

Please pick one or both of these quotes to discuss in your blog entry today. Happy Harvest Moon!

I don't like falling trees. My dad was nearly killed in a timber cutting accident. A tree fell on him. My brotherr Scott was killed in a timbering accident when a tree fell on him. I take falling trees seriously. I also don't like falling leaves because I think a tree without leaves is the ugliest thing on earth.

Blog City image small "Prompt: Write about living in a Doll House."

I don't know about that. You'd have to ask Princess Megan Snow Rose Author IconMail Icon. I know she's a doll so she must live in a doll house.
