30 Day Blogging Challenge PROMPT July 20th In 1969, Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon. Afterward, people commonly complained, βIf they can put a man on the moon, why canβt they ______.β How would you finish that statement today? My mind is swimming in not so good thoughts today... much has to do with Covid stupidity and the concept of inequality. I did watch the first episode of Canada Reads tonight. They are choosing the best book to represent Canada for 2020. Each day five people debate the merits of 5 books and each day one is eliminated until only one remains. The books are: The contenders and their chosen books and their defenders are: Alayna Fender defending Small Game Hunting at the Local Coward Gun Club by Megan Gail Coles Akil Augustine defending Radicalized by Cory Doctorow Amanda Brugel defending We Have Always Been Here by Samra Habib Kaniehtiio Horn defending Son of a Trickster by Eden Robinson George Canyon defending From the Ashes by Jesse Thistle https://www.cbc.ca/books/canadareads/meet-the-canada-reads-2020-contenders-1.543... Not sure which one I would pick, but Radicalized was eliminated tonight and I am glad about that. It was not all that representative of Canadian lives and tended to be more male based. https://www.cbc.ca/books/canadareads/canada-reads-2020-to-take-place-july-20-23-... |
