Childhood Vacation
Prompt: What was your favorite childhood vacation?

My father was in the Air Force and we lived by Nashville, Tennessee, Arizona, Little Rock Arkansas, Washington State and Maryland. I loved seeing Washington, DC. The White House, Capitol, Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. My grandparents took me to the Smoky Mountains and I loved the mountains. It is really pretty there. I saw two black bears in cages. I enjoyed all the stores and buying stuffed black bears.

Traveling to Indiana from Washington State took forever. It was sad not to be able to see Mt. Rainer anymore. We lived by the desert in Arizona. I enjoyed seeing Loretta Lynn and meeting Bobby Hardin, a country singer who didn't make the top. We lived next door to General McCarthur's private physician. I enjoyed seeing a couple of plantations in Tennessee. I guess these count as vacations.

Glen Campbell Picture. He was a favorite with me.
