Interconnected Dreams

Again--
through stanza and line--
I attempt to understand the dreams,
which have remained vivid
all these years.

In the first,
I looked into the blue sky
and saw a man
surrounded by angel white clouds
descending from the heavens.

His face and beard
reflecting the golden splendor
of the morning sun.

His eyes
shining with the glory
of the Holy Spirit.

In the second,
someone knocked on my Grandparents' side door,
I answered
and came face-to-face
with a neighbor.

She said,
"Come to the Mission on Sunday!"

I ask,
"Why?"

"Because,"
she replied,
Christ is returning than."

I answered,
"No He's not!
He's already returned."
