"Look ... I don't think and act like an American at times so I'll be screaming this until some asshole here shoots me (gotta love guns in Montana!): This hoarding, profiting, etc. is a predictable problem and can be dealt with. Too many Americans just shrug it off as if there isn't a solution. There is. LEADERSHIP makes a difference. I was in Taiwan in January/February. The TAIWAN government BANNED this kind of insanity there. They upped the production of masks as soon as possible; they tracked people and their contacts from the beginning; they hunted down those who didn't quarantine; they fined those who did not report being ill! Many Americans have this attitude "I'll do whatever I want and you can't stop me" (same in Costa Rica) that will kill people. The lack of leadership at the top to counteract this is stunning. The party beaches in Florida, that church in Louisiana ... sooooo American. As someone asked me a couple weeks ago, "Who's going to pay for this?" As if ... Ask me today? "YOU ARE!"
