Westside High School: Music Groups

Like most of the programs at Westside, the musical programs operate on a standard of "quality over quantity," so most groups are small but of high skill.

All members are seniors, except where

Lady Steel
Style: Hardcore punk (cf. Dead Kennedys and Black Flag)

Drums: Nadine Martin
Notes: Formed after break-up of Andi's previous band. Andi [Eurasian, living with longtime boyfriend with marriage plans after graduation] is a senior at Keyserling. Nadine [Calm, androgynous lesbian vegetarian] goes to Eastman.

Notes: Derided by upperclassmen for its light sound; and by the Spanish speakers for its name; popular with the underclassmen (especially girls) because of the cute guys who started it. Scarlett joined later, and has been trying to take it over ever since.

Notes: Student group formed to pick up classically oriented gigs. In respectable settings, play Mozart, et al. In college "slam" settings, play radical twentieth century "classical". Will perform with various "guest" soloists for quintets. ("Wendigo" because "Cannibal" was deemed a bridge too far.)
