Write about something ordinary that brought you unexpected joy.
Like many, I love my coffee in the morning. But I particularly enjoy my coffee since I purchased my first PPD cup a couple of years ago. I now have 12 individual works of art, in the guise of a coffee mug. I purchased one at a time as they came into the gift shop just up from my office. They are exactly the right size, the porcelain sides and handles the right thickness and the artwork is joyfully whimsical. The ordinary becomes extraordinary.
Peanut Butter and Jelly
Donkeys,
one brown, one gray,
a painting on my cup,
it always cheers me up.
I hear them neigh.
Wonky!
Black cat
in silhouette
red poppies all around
holds coffee freshly ground.
My thirst is met,
just that.
Bunny
wiggling his nose
he sits on his kiester.
Use the cup at Easter
It's one of those,
funny.
There's three
dogs with glasses,
silly but makes me smile.
Will you tarry a while?
Coffee klatches
with me.
