About This Newsletter In the past seventy years, World Religion Day has become an interfaith celebration. It is a day dedicated to learning about the spiritual similarities that are the foundation of all religions. Letter From the Editor In 1950, the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'i of the United State, initiated World Religion Day, which since become an international celebration. World Religion Day focuses on the spiritual principle that are the foundations of all religion. These spiritual principles are in harmony with each other, and play a significant role in unifying humanity. Baha'is believe that there is only one God, which is known by many different names. Periodically God sends a prophet or manifestation to assist the human race in the next stage of its spiritual and material development. Since all the messengers came from the one God, their spiritual teaching are in harmony. It is only the outward teachings that vary because those are suited to the conditions of the time the religion was revealed and the spiritual development of humanity at that time. This year, World Religion Day is January 19. There are many ways to celebrate this day. You can attend services dedicated to showing the similarities of the six major religions. Almost seventy-five percent of the world's population belong to one of the six religions, which are Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Sikhism. How do you celebrate Word Religion Day if you do not attend a Devotional Service that day? Research a religion that you are curious about. Research the Golden Rule, which is common to all religions.
