PROMPT: July 17th - Describe the earliest memory you have.

I remember riding in Grandpa Frank's car down a dark country road on the night of a full moon. The copses of trees were growing at intervals along the road. The full moon cast the tree shadows across the road and the car. We were going to the Chitwood farm, cousins on one side or the other.

When we got to the farm, the adults played cards while we children played hide-and-seek. This was the night I decided to hide in a old Frigidaire setting on my cousin's back porch. My grandfather found me hiding in the refrigerator and took me out. I'm not sure how old I was at the time, maybe about three or four; perhaps younger. I remember my mother was expecting one of my siblings.

DAY 2432: Everyone keeps telling me grieving is a process and I'll be fine. I have this overwhelming urge to test the legal system by committing murders and pleading insanity What are my odds on winning. How do you cope with insensitive people?

Grief is movement
through a swirling fog
walking form an old normal to a new normal.

Grief is something one survives. It is a process that continues, in different forms, for the rest of a person's life. My mother died in 2012, I'm still mourning her death, but in a different way than when she first died. I'm can laugh when I remember some of the things she did. I cry when I remember other things she said that I would like to know more about.

There are groups to help those in mourning through the process to find a new normal. The groups work for some people, but not others. Sometimes it's easier to talk to a stranger about the emotions grief raises, and sometimes it's easier to talk to a friend or family member. The process of mourning is an individual experience, which one deals with on a daily basis. Sometimes it's better to write about it, other times it's better to find a quiet place to cry and pray.

Day 2036: "Literature is one of the most interesting and significant expressions of humanity." P. T. Barnum
Write anything you want about this.

I'm not sure whether I agree or disagree with this statement. Literature is wonderful, exciting, creative, encouraging thought, and challenging a person's opinions. How significant expression of humanity it is depends upon the author and the reader. Each individual had to determine how significant Literature is in their own lives, I've found some piece of literature quite significant, while others don't seem all that important.
