Today was an interesting day. I woke early, about 5:30, to pack for my trip to Corpus Christi. I was on the road by 6:30, and at the hotel at 11:30. I was eating lunch by 12:30 and 3:30 saw me on my way to the beach. To say I was unimpressed might be an understatement. Corpus Christi is an ugly, dirty, industrial port city that has been repeatedly battered by hurricanes. You can tell it in the chipped concrete and potholes, the buildings with new roofs but lacking a fresh paint job. I'm hopeful that tomorrow I will see both the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium and it will redeem the city some for me. But so far my impression is of a battered, beaten down city I wouldn't visit again. But it did teach me that I would love to do these kind of trips in an RV. Somehow, traveling like this is in my blood. I need the change of pace in order to fully appreciate life. I need adventure and variety to be satisfied. Speaking of variety, I wrote a feature article for the blogging bliss newsletter. The idea of that newsletter going out to hundreds or thousands of readers gives me shivers. I hope it's well received. You can read it here: "Invalid Item" . I'm thrilled to have written it and hope I can come up with more interesting articles in the future. Today I was able to write two new poems "Force of Nature" , "The RV" and a short story
All in all, a pretty productive day. I hope tomorrow is too! Need a review? Submit a bitem link to "Invalid Item" Need something to review? Access my portfolio showcase here. Items are ordered newest to oldest in each category:
