My Prayers 1 O Help in Peril! Enable me to prosper. O self-Subsisting! Transform my fire into light. 2 There is no peace for me, O Lord, Save in the mighty fortress of thy Cause. Forgetfulness of all save Thee, O Lord, Is my salvation. 3 Through the power of Thy Word, O Lord, The walls of separation are crumbling. Into Thy might Covenant, O Lord, The word is entering. 4 O Lord, Forgive this love I have that sees in worship its reward, or praises out of fear of hell's fire. O Lord, Let me love you for yourself alone, without hope of a reward, or fear of punishment. 5 O my Lord, Worth of Thy blessing Thou has called me! Though I know not how this can be. I who have let the enemy in And barred the Friend. Yet worthy Thou has called me, So worthy I must be. 6 In Baha'u'llah's name I ask, for the ability to teach God's Cause, and for guidance to us my talents in accordance with God's will. In Baha'u'llah's name I ask, to be independent of all save God, and to love humanity. In Baha'u'llah's name I ask, for help the walk the Path of Faith, and strength to serve the cause of God. 7 O Splendor of reality. Giver of immortality! O Glory of God., Wielding justice's rod. Proof of God! Unity Is reflected in your mirror, Dispelling humanity's fear. You bring unity To humanity; Deity's Revealer! 8 Help me to hunger, O God! To hunger for the fruits of Thy new revelation,m That grow on the Tree of Life. 9 O Lord, Thank you for letting me live in this day, For allowing me to dwell at this time and this stage of history. O Thou Kind Lord, Thank you for giving me this opportunity, To serve Thy Cause in this wonderful age. O Most Generous One, Thank you for helping me to do Thy will, Thank you for Thy forgiveness. 10 Help me to thirst, O Lord! To thirst for the wine of Thy covenant, That is pressed from the grapes of love. 11 There is no peace for me, O Lord, Save in the mighty fortress of Thy Cause.
