Gravette, Missouri: Two Poems
Gravette:
Poem One
Going home was never any difficulty then. Returning After a long summer trip Visiting town with unique names in green states Encouraged the wanderlust in us. Truth is we looked forward to Grandpa's vacation. Traveling through neighboring states was an Experience that left indelible memories.
Gravette, Missouri:
Poem Two
Eden, on the evening of the sixth day,
could not have been more beautiful
then those verdant hills
the summer Grandfather took us to Missouri.
To a child's eyes
they were moluntains
holding rustic towns with strange names.
Gravette,
burned into my memory
by the laughter in Grandpa's voice
was somewhere in those hills.
Gravette,
attached to nothing more than Grandpa's laughter
and a green Missouri hillside.
Both of these poems were written in 147 B.E. The only thing I remember about this town was that my Grandpa laughed when we saw the sign pointing to it. We never entered the town.
