I’m Not Giving Up, But…

There is no way that I’m going to get Chapter One for my Wandita novel done by the end of this month. That doesn’t mean that I’m giving up on this novel. I’m not. All it means is that I’m not going to get it done this month. I still plan on finishing this novel as well as my Jessica Strong novel. I’m still planning on finishing them and getting them published.

Why am I writing about not giving up? It’s because of how much writing I got done today. Which wasn’t very much. At least it’s not when it comes to my first chapter for my Wandita novel. I did get part one done but unfortunately, I only got about one-third of part two finished. Which means I still have two-thirds left to do before I’m finished with that one. With only two days still to go for this month I know I’m not going to get it done.

It’s not all bad news, though. I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere close to fifty thousand words done this month before this month even began. So, I changed my overall goal sort of. Part of my goal has been to do better than I done last year for NaNoWriMo. I have done that. True, I haven’t accomplished it by doing more chapters as originally planned. Even though I came close to it this year. I kind of did with my Jessica Strong novel. I’ve done it in the way of Word Count, though. In fact, I have more than doubled it with Word Count this year.

So, why didn’t I get more written today? What is the usual reason? It’s work. It was very busy at work today. A lot busier than most Wednesdays have been. Why has it been so busy? It’s that time of year. It is going to be like that for the next month or two. That’s the main reason why I only got about a thousand words written today.
