Unity Senstina Seven candles of unity, Seven lights to the world, Glow on the distant horizon, Growing brighter each day, Giving the downcast soul new hope, That world peace is in sight. The first candle that comes in sight, Is political unity; Giving world citizens new hope, That parties need not divide the world. The second light that nears each day: Agreement about global projects is on the horizon. The third candles on the horizon, Comes slowly into sight; Unity of freedom grows each day. Fourth is religious unity, One common faith for the entire world, Is humanity's greatest hope. The next candle to generate hope, To brighten the far horizon, Makes a single homeland of this world, And brings the most great peace in sight. The nations join in unity, Giving Earth its own birthday. The sixth candle to brighten Earth's day, To give the human race more hope, Is the light of humanity's unity, Glowing bright on the horizon, And giving the human race new sight, A new perception of its place in the world. Giving more light to the human world, Making even brighter the day, And improving humanity's sight, By affirming the planet's hope, Of a more luminous horizon: The seventh candle is linguistic unity. These candles give the world true hope, That a new day is on the horizon, Placing within humanity's sight a new vision of unity. Poet's Note: ▼ |
