1 Sunday Morning Services At a Christian Church in Las Vegas The Holy Spirit whispers to my soul, like the distant echoes of last night's thunderstorm. 2 Sunday Afternoon Services At the Baha'i Center in Las Vegas I entered the Baha'i Center one Sunday and was greeted with a multitude of smiles, a multitude of happy, friendly faces come to intone praise, prayer, and song. I sat in the front row of the sanctuary waiting for services to begin, though I had came alone and unescorted I was not left alone. I listened to the music and the prayers, wondering what the sermon would be. To my surprise there was no sermon, but reading from the sacred scripture of humanity. 3 Sunday Morning Services At the Baha'i Center in Las Vegas Gathered beneath the dome of unity we sang God is One. Oh Lord, I felt tranquility spill its warm essence over your lovers, heard its chords echo through the trembling air off the nine-walled sanctuary of peace. 4 Devotional Services At the Baha'i Center in Las Vegas The last time I participated in Sunday services, We sang the song "God is One", And I read from the Bhagavad Gita: "One who neither hates the presence of enlightenment..." The last time I participated in Devotional services the opening prayer was: "Create in me a pure heart..." Poet's Note: ▼ |
