To The Babi and Baha'i Martyrs

You cannot silence martyrs tongues,
Their wounds proclaim in scarlet tones,
Their love for God and His Promised Ones;
They will cry out even without lungs.

Awestruck
Oxygen atoms vibrate
With creation's trumpet blast.

Red is the dew of morning,
That kisses the first buds of spring,
That calls from the tombs of winter,
The flowers of faithfulness.

The Dawn-breakers of
God's new day ascend
Out of the stygian darkness

Each releasing in
A single burst the power
of twenty thousand candles

The Living Letters
of The Bab's Holy Book consumed
In the fire of love

In dawn's scarlet light
Purple blossomed Chaste Trees bleed
For Baha'u'llah

Ruby blossomed cactus bloom
For Christ Returned in the Father's Glory

Moths attracted to
God's ancient faith glow
in the joy of reunion

God's lovers sheltered
By the Tree of Life in the Abha Paradise
Enter through the Gate of God

In the Book of Life

Love's flame ignited
A living candelabrum
Dances across faith's stage

Each candle drips hot
Wax upon bare flesh
As the audience applauds

The beacons of truth
Lit by the Primal Point
For the Glory of God

The Children of God
subduing heart's citadel

The flowers of love
Picked by the Hand of God
And replanted in paradise

Ruby wings at dawn
Butterflies freed from cocoons

The candles of faith
Consumed in serve to God
Lit by the flame of love

The harvest of faith
Red fruit on religion's tree

Nightingales at dawn
Singing the anthems of God
Announcing the Promised One

Scarlet breasted robins
Greeting the Lord of the Age

Crystals polished by
The tests of faith glow
With the Rays of divine light

The sparrow of fear
Raised by the Lord of Hosts
To the heights of eagles

The eagles of doubt
Raised to certitude's cliffs
By the Glory of God

Seven gems sparkle
in the Martyrs Crown:
the pearl of certitude,
the ruby of love,
the bloodstone of steadfastness,
the diamond of knowledge,
the emerald of life,
the onyx of obedience,
and the sapphire of mercy.

reflecting the mirror
of God's light.

Precious to the lips of faith
