Varieties of Existence: Two Interrelated Poems Poem 1: Philosophical Questions Are we images in somebody else's dream; illusions to be dispelled with a waking scream? Is this incongruity, that we call reality, part of a greater existence? The varieties of existence are limited to the stations of Deity, Prophethood, and Servitude. The darkness quivers, as the rising light dispels the legions of hate. Poem 2: Meditation on Existence Deity The hidden essence of reality shines bright! Transcendent concepts: inaccessibility of The Deity; no physical sign reveals either absence or presence. God is defined, as creation's ultimate Cause; The Preexistent, eternal reality that does not perish; The Everlasting presence that does not decline; Self-Subsisting entity that does not alter; The Unknowable Essence. Prophethood Manifestation of reality's essence! Mirrors reflecting the sun of divinity to humanity. From the beginning that has no beginning they stepped out of light's veil; revealing the Primal Will; revealing the Word of God; conduits of the Holy Spirit. To the end that will have no end they continue to manifest God; renewing His ancient faith and bestowing eternal life. Servitude Creations of the essence of reality! Cheval glasses reflecting the mirrors of divinity-- who reflect God's attributes. To believe or not to believe is free will's choice; In the fire of tests soul ascends the degrees of perfection; soul's limitation is the station of servitude. Poet's Note: ▼ |
