When Life Doesn't Make Sense
When Life doesn't make sense,
we're thrown about.
We've no defense.
We're left with doubt.

When Life doesn't make sense,
we question God,
we question self,
we question everyone we see.
By face we wince,
by steps we plod,
we look at the shelf,
we cry out to be free.

When Life doesn't make sense,
demands abound,
hopes are lost,
loves are tossed aside.
Belief is on the fence,
our Faith has run aground,
now Life is full of Pride.

When Life doesn't make sense,
The Bible's Truth is tossed away
a fog that's dense
in the cloud, Betray.

When Life doesn't make sense,
we're falling fast,
no grips to hold,
no floor to stop.
When Good is bad and bad is dense,
what jeers we cast,
our sneers are bold,
the world is shredded and the bottom is top.

When Life doesn't make sense,
has God run away from our pain?
Is He destroyed by our anger?
Does God exist at all?
When times are dark and heart is tense,
our hope is finally gained
by looking into His Unchanging Word,
while bending knee to Him call.

"But Life doesn't make sense.
I don't know if I can pray."
"Then your greatest defense
is to look at your feet
to see Who is holding your day."
