If so, why? Tests and difficulties are a part of life on the material/physical plane. We encounter these difficulties to help us develop our spiritual attributes. The soul is eternal, when the human body dies the soul will ascend into the spiritual world. The only thing it can take with it are the spiritual attributes or perfections that were acquired or developed when it was in partnership with the physical body. The "Blogging Circle of Friends " prompt for DAY 2129 Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars. Khalil Gibran What do you think?[ Suffering is of two kinds. The first type is that we bring on ourselves when we overindulge in food, alcohol, or some other substance that should be consumed only in small quantities--if at all. I don't think this is the type of suffering Mr. Gibran is talking about. The other type of suffering are similar those those experienced by the faithful believers. These are similar to the sorrows or sufferings experienced His Holiness Christ and the other Manifestations of God. These types of suffering require sacrifices, and help attain perfection. I think this is the type of suffering that Mr. Gibran is talking about in this quote. |
