Waiting Room

Waiting Room

Music on the edge of hearing;
ear candy echoing through empty ages,
through mind numbing aeons,
to reverberate
from a 20x8 glass brick wall
that separates,
but does not segregate
bored sad faced patients.

Lights subdued,
like distant star shrouded
in stellar nebula.

Voices,
slightly louder than the music,
shatter the illusion of tranquility
as scattered words fall
on uninterested ears.

Laughter reverberates!
