If they say who cares if one more light goes out in the sky of a million stars? It flickers, flickers. Who cares when someone's time runs out if a moment is all we are? We're quicker, quicker. Who cares if one more light goes out? Well, I do. ~One More Light, Linkin Park~ For paying a tribute to Chester Bennington, July 2018. *^*Star*^*

The "Blogging Circle of Friends Open in new Window. DAY 2070
July 20, 1969 - In a live transmission from the Moon was viewed by 720 million people around the world, with the landing of Apollo 11, at 10:56 p.m. EDT, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin stepped onto the surface of the Moon, live on international television.

Do you remember that day and seeing it on television? How old were you when this monumental event occurred? If you weren't alive when it happened, what grade were you in school when you first learned about this piece of history?

Do you think we should return to the moon with the equipment we have today and improve our knowledge or move on to Mars?

Do I remember seeing the moon landing on television? Yes! I was thrilled to see humanity taking its first steps beyond it cradle. My grandmother wasn't thrilled about it, in fact, it upset her. I don't know for sure, why it upset her because she wouldn't discuss the subject. I suspect her feelings had more to do with superstition than anything else.

Do I think we should return to the moon with the equipment we have today and improve our knowledge or move on to Mars? I think we should do both because doing both will improve our knowledge. I don't think it is financially feasible for one nation to do both at the same time. We need the cooperation of other countries because returning to the moon and/or colonizing Mars are projects that need international cooperation. I think we can do both, however, we will have to overcome our xenophobia in relation to the rest of humanity and other nations.
