The Motivational Monday prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" King is an advocate for gender equality and has long been a pioneer for equality and social justice. "Ever since that day when I was 11 years old, and I wasn't allowed in a photo because I wasn't wearing a tennis skirt, I knew that I wanted to change the sport." Billie Jean King Gender equality in sports is only one part of the issue, however, it is a very important part. Women in sports are more visible than women in the regular business community. This gives them a place of leadership, which is extremely important because they are role models for younger women. When they are seen working for gender equality, then gender equality will be taken more seriously by younger women across the world. Women are the mothers of the next generation. When children--whether they are natural, adopted, or foster children--see the women in their lives and in ports working toward gender equality, they will work for it when they become adults. They will help humanity and civilization survive and prosper into the next millennium. Civilization has two wings, female and male, if both wings are not strong, then civilization will crash into the ground. This is what appears to be happening today, and part--not all--of the problem is gender equality. |
