nights are cool and days are very hot
in this land, the summer heat melts
ice cream helps, water's required
breezes blow on porches
ever still we sit
cool the body
wait awhile
nighttime
joy

bright
sunlight
waking up
dress up sweating
race from home to car
blasting the A.C. high
drunken walks through ev'ry shade
nights are such boons for needed rest
whippoorwill serenades us to sleep
