EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE
One day a beautiful rose blossomed on a bush next to the Ganga.

When the Himalayan wind blew the plant swayed graciously and the rose saw its reflection in the water,

It was delighted to see its on beautiful color and shape and became proud of its own beauty.

It was also enjoying its own pleasant scent, when suddenly, it saw in the reflection, the ugly thorn close to its stem.

The rose was shocked and embarrassed to see such an ugly thorn so close to its own beauty.

The rose in disgust asked, God and Mother Ganga why they had created such a ugly thorn by its side.

When just then a hungry goat came near the rose plant and was about to take a nibble...as the goat opened its

mouth to bite the flower the thorn pricked the goat's mouth and the goat lost all desire to devour the flower.

The beautiful rose felt ashamed for hating the thorn, and now addressed the thorn in a loving voice and said,

"Thank God, Mother Ganga and thank you, too." The beautiful rose and the thorn then lived happily

together as best friends .
