What are Monthly Prompts? They are the Prompts for The Monthly Script Writing Contest. |
February Prompts Main Prompt = Antagonist An Antagonist is just the opposite of the Protagonist. They are the bad guys or gals in your movie and or television script. The Antagonist is usually male. There are a lot of female ones too. I’d like to read some scripts about female Antagonist, but the choice is still up to you. Most of them are ruthless. They will do almost anything to get what they want. Sometimes it’s anything. There is usually only one Antagonist, but there can be more than one. Genre Prompts Action/Adventure = You’re an Antagonist on the quest for world domination. You have the plan, the followers, and the weapons to do it. What is that plan? Will it succeed or fail? How does it succeed or fail? Children’s = You are a bully. What kind of a bully are you? Are you a teaser or someone who threatens? How did you become a bully? Bullying is a big problem that a lot of children have, but this is from the POV of the bully. Drama = Not all Antagonist are ruthless. You are one of them. They can be bad without being very bad. What kind of an Antagonist are you? You could be a medical professional or a rotten cop or something else. The choice is up to you. Fantasy = You’re an evil Antagonist King and or Queen. What kind of an Antagonist are you? Why are you so evil? How evil are you? What sort of a King and or Queen are you? Are you from a Middle Earth-like society or a Medieval one. Horror/Scary = You are a very evil mad scientist or a serial killer. Which one are you? How evil are you? What is your Antagonist up to? That’s what I want to know. It can be as bad as you want it to be. Just remember to rate them correctly. Mystery = The Antagonist in a mystery usually isn’t an evil one, but they can be ruthless. Most of the time they are smarter than the Protagonist. At least they think that they are. What kind of a mystery is this? Romance/Love = You’re in love with someone who doesn’t love you back. You will do whatever it takes to get the one you love. What will you do? How will you do it? Will it work? Do you Antagonist get what they want or not? Science Fiction = You are an Antagonist who has a weapon of mass destruction. What kind of a weapon is it? How do you plan on using it? Is it going to be tested first or is it to be used right away? Why is your Antagonist doing it? Teen = Two teens want the same girl or boy. At least one of them is the Antagonist. Is it one or both? What will they do to get what they want? If it is both, how bad will it get for them? Will one of them be worse than the other one? Thriller/Suspense = You’re an Antagonist who has written a tell-all novel that you are willing to turn over to the right people, for a price. What is that price? Why did they do it? Is there a way to stop them from doing it? Westerns = You are an Antagonist Rancher who already has one of the largest ranches in the territory, but they want all of it. They are buying up all the land around them. Why are they doing it? What will they do if someone doesn’t want to sell? Young Adults = This is one of those that there might be more than one Antagonist. There is a group that are danger seekers. They will do anything for a thrill. At least one of them will do whatever it takes to be the best one.
