🥇 Disappearing Act
Disappearing Act A Daily Winner for November 27th
You didn't really leave me,
you just seemed to fade away
like the sun dissipating in the dusk.
Rather than pain, you left an ache –
a phantom limb
of where you once
were attached to my life.
I am not crippled;
I simply limp onwards
thankful that my fingers
and toes are still here.
How do you calculate loss
when it has been so gradual
that it's only noticed in passing?
I should feel more.
The promises made but not kept,
the commitments broken,
the love shared but now gone.
All I feel is relief.
This train of life continues on.
You're no more than a
passenger who got off
too soon.
