The Declaration of Dependence

"For when the course of" human life
reveals the need for greatest hope
We solve the base of living strife
through One, Who saves, gives grace to cope.

"We hold (this Truth) so evident"
that none can live his life alone
For sin is ev'ry man's lone bent,
which causes depths of heart to groan.

That many ruthless tyrant ways
have caused despair and troubled heart
We need the mercy Christ displays,
have hope new life in Him to start.

"My independence made me poor.
O, Christ my all on Thee now lean
"Please, save my soul, make life endure
that Hope will last as newly clean."
