Who's Got Talent?

Who's got talent? Let me see...
I wonder is it you?
With one or two or maybe three
with more I'll impress, too!

They have these shows that make us watch!
The talent's really great!
We hope our gifts will equal match!
With Gold we'll go through straight!

Simon, David & Mel B.,
Heidy, Howie, H'ward...
Am I good? We soon will see
if talent's by the yard!

A-G-T & B-G-T
can make or break careers.
But funny thing we often see
is who has conquered fears?

"You've got four Yes's!" Simon says.
"You've got it! This I trow!"
"You sing and dance, a real true whiz!
"A golden buzzer show!"

Yet, sometimes acts that get the axe
may find celebrity
For other minds with green that back
the skill for world to see.

But where do writers go to show
their skills and talents rare?
The best's oft quiet, this I know
for talent we must care.

The writer must then sing his song
or speak his thought with flair
And 'fore the world we'll then be strong
and bring applause to bear.

Yet, writer's fame may be more slow
than singers on the stage.
Acclaim that Lewis, Tolkien know
grew when their books were rage.

With lives of these great writers o'er
some decades more did pass
Before fame burgeoned movie's door
more greatness that would last.
