Differences Versus Similarities

Don't focus on the differences
because they segregate
humankind
into armed camps
behind stone walls.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this poem yet. I'm so tired of reading headlines and Facebook posts that focus on differences, as if they were more important then the similarities, the common ground, that all humanity shares. I know there are differences, but if we focus on those to the exclusion of the similarities than we're going to end up destroying each other and the planet itself.
