‘Idál (Justice), 9 ‘Aẓamat (Grandeur) 174 Badi - Wednesday, May 24, 2017 CE "Inspire then my soul, O my God, with Thy wonderous remembrance, that I may glorify Thy name. Number me not with them who read Thy words and fail to find Thy hidden gift which, as decreed by Thee, is contained therein, and which quickeneth the souls of Thy creatures and the hearts of Thy servants. Cause me, O my Lord, to be reckoned among them who have been so stirred up by the sweet savors that have been wafted in Thy days that they have laid down their lives for Thee and hastened to the scene of their death in their longing to gaze on Thy beauty and in their yearning to attain Thy presence."1 Bahá’u’lláh What sparks my imagination? "Sparking your imagination"2 is the title of this week's Contests & Activities newsletter. The quotes it contained caused me to think about the things that ignite my imagination. One of the things sparking my muse is quotes of any type. After perusing the newsletter, I checked my Cox inbox where I found the above quote and realized that much of my inspiration comes from the Baha'i scriptures. I, also, receive inspiration from other quotes, but I find the quotes from the scriptures encourage tranquility. Without tranquility I couldn't write anything because writer's block would clog up my imagination and silence my muse. Today, I posted an entry in Poet999 - A Butterfly Emerges From Her Cocoon about this subject, but I'm not all together satisfied with it. I have been truly satisfied with any of my recent post to the blog. I think the problem has to do with the fact that I'm composing the entry and then posting it without doing much editing. I think, instead of posting everyday, I need to compose the post and wait until the next day to post it. That way I can do more editing and perhaps make the post longer. Footnotes |
