![]() ![]() 245 words 45 lines The faces of war By Lisa Noe ![]() Teary eyed babies on the side of the road Watch as there families and homes explode Men running to and fro in the streets Working to bring forth an enemy defeat Men screaming out in pain As the enemy regain We win a few and lose some too With our allies we’ll rendezvous We’ll take a hill while losing many men first Arms and legs are severed by a bomb’s burst Body parts and bodies litter the ground While ears grow numb to the horrid sounds No not who takes part in thus Oh but yes it is people like us Losing life, and limb, and sanity Never experiencing self vanity Fighting for family, loved one’s and kin While making lifelong loving friends Brother to brother they shall always be And sister too, don’t forget about she. They fight for freedom with valor and pride But war should never be romanticized It is pure hell on earth It has no common worth Though in this life we shall need to keep Sanity And bring to justice to those who desecrate humanity I sight people throughout this world who will die To create havoc and death for you and I A man walks along a dirt road and he’s killed for being old A woman alone in her home, she is raped and sold A little child runs after the soldiers and begs These are the faces of war.
