These Are My JOTtings...

Today is a Day to Live!

Today is a day I truly must live!
Tomorrow, it will be no more.
My hopes are from God. They are gifts He doth give.
The way is a wide-open door!

My body, my home, may be showing the wear
of the days I have lived on this Earth,
But the man, who's inside, must keep focus out there
toward the goal of the lasting great worth!

The matter is not, "All the steps will it take
to achieve ev'ry goal that I see,..."
But to live to the full ev'ry step that I make
with The Lord leading man that I be.

Need I win all the time that success be my claim
or do false steps yet merit my tale?
Can I learn from a fail as I steady my aim?
Can hot and cold temper my mail?

Do the flower and bee think of doing their best,
while living as made yet to live?
Should my talents be used as my breath that is blessed,
my living be just as I give?
