Home in Kentucky
By Lisa Noe*Cat*

In a cool Kentucky field the corn blew in the breeze
The old dog set and howled and bayed at the moon
Grandpa and grandma were laid to rest on the hill
Mama and papa took off across the country to seize
What the nation held in beauty from land to sea

*Vine2**Poseyr**Poseyp**Poseyb**Poseyo**Poseyy**Vine1*

There I was, just sitting there on my own
On the front porch of my old Kentucky home
I looked up to the skies it was mirrored in my eyes
Those majestic hills of old where opossums
And raccoons roamed .

*Vine2**Poseyr**Poseyp**Poseyb**Poseyo**Poseyy**Vine1*

In the land of my fathers and my mothers yes in deed
This is where I lay may head it is where I want to be
I want to lay on the ground at night capture a lighting bug in flight
Stand on Black Mountain and touch the sky
A place where I can see a black bear, a wild cat with a menacing stare

There I was, just sitting there on my own
On the front porch of my old Kentucky home
Yes I look up to those skies and they’re mirrored in my eyes
Its those majestic hills of old where the opossums
And the raccoons roamed .

I’ll say to you one more time, these are the hills of ancient times
A special place to call home where man and beast can coexist
Where hoot owls lull you at night and the rooster crows at dawns first light
These are the hills of Kentucky, where those who live there say they’re lucky
I love the mountains of old God kissed them and placed them in his fold.
*Vine2**Poseyr**Poseyp**Poseyb**Poseyo**Poseyy**Vine1*
The hills of Kentucky they’re gold.
God Bless Those hills and hollows!*Vine2**Heart**Vine1*
