Addicted

"Addicted" 








The 30 DBC prompt is "Tell us about a time you gambled or took a chance on someone/something when the odds were very much not in your favor."

This one is easy because I actually did it more times tan I can even begin to remember. As I have stated on here several times before, I am in recovery from addiction. My gambling was done nearly everyday when I got high because I would do so with so much of my drug of choice that medical experts to this very day still call me a liar if I tell them how much I used. They sate that the amounts I used would have caused respiratory arrest and subsequent death..The odd part was that I am a former emergency medical services worker. I knew when I took the drugs I was taking that doing so was an extreme gamble. However the drugs were in control and I did what my addiction demanded. Each time I would do so nearly terrified because I knew I was taking massive overdoses. I did so when my drug was available for years, Thank God I don't have to live that way anymore. On February 9, I was clean eight years. If I do all year this year, what I did last year I will likely see nine years.
