146 words 16 lines The Land I Love ![]() By Lisa Noe ![]() Oh Kentucky, I am so Lucky I live in mountains, climbing high to the sky An abundance of trees and rag-weed which make me sneeze But they comfort with pure delight. Oh Kentucky, your crystal waters run deep, cascading from cliffs. The air is so fresh, pure and clean, it is only flowers you sniff. Oh Kentucky, what a sight to see. The Angels move freely, within thee. Wildlife too numerous to count, I hear the sounds Butterflies swatting to and fro, I hear them everywhere I go. Kentucky, oh Kentucky, Kentucky the land I love. Your people are strong, to them I belong. Blue Jay, Raven black, bald eagle; I'd better watch my back. State of hunters, pioneers; Boon and Indians once appeared. Oh Kentucky I love thee more than anything. Cherry blossoms, Red buds, the Dogwoods in spring These are the awesome sights, smells, and sounds Even the bunnies don’t hide underground. Neighbors still help neighbors, and children still play around. These are the visions our people bring to life. we love we laugh and we don't forget to pray. |
