Day 5 - 13 Days of Halloween - Beware The Clowns
Face paint hides the ravages of time
Smeared on to look like joy and laughter
But all hiding a painful secret
One enacted out with other children
In ghoulish disguise of carnival hilarity
Parents guard your children well
For not every clown is all fun and games
Some live inside an insidious world
Where darkness covers their heart
As they seek to enact their revenge
On the unsuspecting and the innocent
Where once, things demeaning and cruel
Were done to them
Leaving them scarred and brutalized
Their own childhoods lost forever
Where now, only hurting others
Brings a kind of sick relief
As their vileness permeates
the hidden, grittier side of life.
There seems to be an epidemic of creepy clowns trying to lure children away. They've been spotted all over the USA and a few other countries. What is up with people? *RollEyes* Anyway, write a short story or poem about a creepy clown on Halloween. This is another one of those that can be freaky or funny.
