Day 2 – 13 Days of Halloween - Young Witch

Indigo eyes with the power to persuade;
Blond curls that hover around her face like a caress;
A young witch stands ready for this evening's adventure
Her wand at the ready, its tip glowing... anticipating
All sorts of demons and delights.
Night floods the courtyard
The full moon casting shadows along the walls,
Dancing as the wind picks up;
Striping the trees of the last vestiges of their colour.
Jack-o-lanterns grin their wicked grins
As a chill fills the air.
Mystery swirls, gathers and pervades -
She moves toward the gate
Gathering her power about her
Moving with a grace that is centuries old
She will own this
Her confidence stirs the air and it shimmers
Ready to face whatever the elder witches
Wish to conjure, invoke or summon.
