1999
I was dreaming when I wrote this. Forgives it seems out of line. They say 2000, party over, out of time. So, tonight, I'm going to party like it's 1999. Somebody's got a bomb, we could all die tonight."

I was convinced the world would end in 1999. On New Year's Eve at my mother's, I looked out the window and guess I was expecting to see Jesus. Not a bad thing. I just want to be ready and for my friends and family to be ready as well. The computers didn't stop. The computers changed time and things were normal. A year later, one day before my Birthday and four days before Christmas, our house burned down. My husband was putting gas in the tractor and static electricity happened. It was so cold. Angels drove my car when I went to my father-in-law's house a mile away. I won't go through the details but we got out and I got my cat Tigger. Prince's song "1999" was going through my mind. We stayed at our principal's old house. We rebuild and we got a better house. I expected the world to end in 1999 but I felt it ended when my house burned down. It didn't.

Party. I haven't partied in years. I don't need to. Prince's song. I hope I don't meet someone who has a bomb and wants to blow me up. The world is a crazy place. I love Prince's song but it has bad memories for me. 1999. Sometimes, songs hold bad memories for us and sometimes good. I hope to never see a year like 2000 again. A house burning down before Christmas? Never a good thing. I move forward and glad life can be good. I hope Prince felt the same way.
