When Doves Cry

How can you just leave me standing in a world that's so cold?

I love the songs but the lyrics seem sexual in the first line and I think of doves crying and it is sad. Sometimes, Prince's songs were sad. Why would doves be sad? This song is hard for me to understand but it goes with the movie. The kid's parents were always fighting, he is trying to be a Rock Star and doesn't want his girlfriend around Morris Day. Who would?

It is a beautiful song. Not all songs are meant to be happy. I hear this song and "Purple Rain" and they make me sad. We no longer have Prince but we have his music. I am glad we do. It would be sad if a singer died, we got rid of their music and didn't remember them. THAT WOULD MAKE DOVES CRY. I am sure we all felt alone at one time or another and cried like a dove. Maybe a dove is sad because they know the world isn't always a friendly place.

Let's pray for a better world and I am sure Prince is singing in Heaven. Doves won't cry there.
