Confession
By Lisa Noe*Cat*

The church was a large catholic structure
The priest was an Irishman of pure heart
Jody was a woman who had done something
She was ashamed of, and now it was time to confess.
She seeked absolution from the father for she had
Had an affair that spanned four years, it was a long
distance Romance and she was embarrassed to admit she
had received The man, who was forty years her senior.
She was twenty something
And the man she had been seeing was in his sixties.
She knew she Had been sinning with the man, but she
had thought she was in love.
But her love had basically turned to hate after the man kept
abusing her Emotionally, and torturing her mentally, my telling
her all he wanted to Do to her.
She became frightened of the man she once thought she loved.
So to protect herself she confessed it all to the Priest, Father John,
who was A strict catholic priest and told her immediately to end the
relationship and Confess to her husband what she had been doing.
He felt that her husband Would be angry but would in time forgive her
if he truly loved her. They did Not believe in divorce. But father, Jody
said, I’m pregnant! Whose child is It my child, he ask I do not know if it belongs to
my husband or my lover father. Still you must confess your sins the father stated.
Jody came clean to her husband And told him she was having an
affair and that she was pregnant, he was angry But as he had learned from childhood
they must have forgiveness because we Each fall short of perfection, they would
seek counseling from Father John. And would raise the baby as the husband’s baby
regardless. Because Love Would conquer all. The counseling would help the couple in their
marriage And they learned how valuable confession could be. They loved each other
and overcame all obstacles.
